CHICAGO (September 29, 2024)/ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Thousands of runners representing 49 states and 43 countries gathered at the starting line for a sold out Life Time Chicago Half Marathon & 5K presented by HOKA on Sunday morning. Runners ranging in ages 2 – 83 participated in the race day events including the half marathon (13.1 miles), 5K (3.1 miles) and Kids Run Chicago (ages 2-12).
The course gave participants exclusive access to Lake Shore Drive and unrivaled skyline views as they ran through historic South Side neighborhoods. Overcast skies and cool weather made for a great morning of running.
Leading up to race day, Life Time threw a pre-race party at Morgan Manufacturing in Chicago’s West Loop, where runners enjoyed live music and entertainment, and geared up for the race ahead. In partnership with the Life Time Foundation and The Morton Arboretum’s Chicago Region Trees Initiative, runners were invited to volunteer at a tree planting event on Saturday morning to further engage with the host community. Sunday’s races concluded with a Finish Festival in Jackson Park to celebrate the accomplishments of the weekend.

The Chicago Half Marathon & 5K is the second of two events that make up the Life Time Chicago Half Marathon Series. Runners who completed both events this year earned a third medal to recognize their achievement.
