Auburn, CA /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – American River 50-Mile Endurance Run (AR50), presented by Altra, the iconic and historic 50-mile endurance run in the United States is returning for its 46th year. The prestigious race event brings together veterans, first-timers, and runners traveling from out of the country. Registration is now open, and we expect all distances to sell out before the end of year. Secure early bird pricing here through October 14th at 11:59pm (PDT).

Taking place on Saturday, April 5, 2025, the event features three epic races on Folsom’s most scenic trails. In addition to the AR50, the event will also feature a 25-mile event, AR25, beginning at Beal’s Point and finishing in Auburn. Also in the lineup is a 10-mile event, AR10, beginning at Rattlesnake Bar and finishing in Auburn.

“Whether you are attempting your first 50 miler or simply seeking a personal best, this race is for you,” said Julie Fingar, race director. “We are incredibly grateful for our continued partnership with the City of Folsom as our start line and hospitality host, as well as our generous sponsors and heartfelt volunteers. These events would not be possible without your support!”

AR50 begins at Folsom Point at the Folsom Lake State Recreation Area in the Sierra Nevada foothills. Athletes will attempt their fastest race with Folsom Lake sparkling in the background as they begin their 50-mile journey on single track trails. The course travels over the Lake Natoma Crossing bridge, reaches the American River Bike Trail and up to Hazel Bluffs.

At Beal’s Point, the 25-milers will start their portion of the race and the 50-milers will continue to push through the second half of their race.

Rattlesnake Bar is where the action begins for our 10-mile competitors. They too will journey to the same finish line as our AR 50 and 25 runners. Rattlesnake Bar marks a pivotal aid station for all runners and indicates to all that they are entering the home stretch of each race.

At the finish line in Auburn, runners can enjoy a post-race celebration in our Ultra Festival. The Ultra Festival will include an array of vendors surrounding a Beer Garden. Each finisher will be awarded their AR Finisher’s Medallion, hand crafted with love in Foresthill, CA. In the Ultra Festival, runners can recover and get warm with a cup of homemade soup prepared by Chef and Ultra-Runner Tim Ruffino along with assorted Taco Tree burritos. It’s both a race and a celebration you won’t want to miss!
