October 8, 2024 – HAMPTON, VIRGINIA /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The 2024 Crawlin’ Crab Half Marathon Weekend, held on October 5 & 6, was a monumental success, with over 2,700 participants and 600 volunteers coming together to celebrate fitness and community in Hampton, Virginia. Participants took part in the Kids 1K, 5K, Half Marathon or the two-day Shell Yeah! Challenge (participants run both the 5K and Half Marathon).

The 12th annual Crawlin’ Crab Half Marathon attracted runners of all skill levels from 35 states, who stormed the streets of Hampton to conquer the fast and flat scenic course. The event was made possible thanks to the support of city officials, local businesses, and the dedicated community of Hampton.

One of the highlights of the weekend was the generosity of the J&A Racing Foundation, who gifted 50 entries, new pairs of shoes, and transportation to students from Aberdeen Elementary. With donations and contributions to this foundation from individuals, these children were able to experience this event. This commitment to making running and fitness accessible to all highlights the foundation’s dedication to promoting health and wellness in the community.

“We are thrilled with the success of the 2024 Crawlin’ Crab Half Marathon Weekend,” said Race Director, Amy Frostick. “The support from the city of Hampton, our volunteers, and the entire community was truly inspiring. We cannot thank everyone enough for their contributions to making this event a memorable experience for all.”

After crossing the finish line, participants were treated to an epic after party complete with live music, food trucks, and refreshing beverages. The community support from local businesses and residents coming out in full force to cheer on the runners and celebrate their accomplishments was seen all over the course.

Plans are already in the works for next year’s event, with organizers promising even more excitement and surprises for participants. The 2025 Crawlin’ Crab Half Marathon Weekend will take place October 4 & 5, 2025. Registration for 2025 is now open. For more information and to register, visit crawlincrabhalf.com.
