(Colorado Springs, October 10, 2024) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/– CTS, a pioneer in the endurance coaching and camps industry, today announced three additions to their professional coaching staff, along with promotions for 11 long-term coaches. The staff of 60 coaches benefits from an industry-leading continuing education program, ongoing mentoring and evaluation, as well as marketing and business services.

“We have created a culture of excellence in coaching development at CTS, and it shows in our ability to attract talented, passionate, and highly-accomplished coaches like Molly Schmelzle, Joshua Nuckles, and Nick DiMarco,” said Cliff Pittman, CTS Coaching Development Director.

All the coaches below are available for new athletes immediately.

Molly Schmelzle

Specialty: Trail and Ultrarunning

Molly approaches coaching with a fit-for-life and hit-the-ground-running mentality, encouraging athletes to feel healthy and strong for event performance as well as quality of life and longevity. In addition to the CTS Coaching College, Molly is a UESCA-Certified Ultrarunning Coach, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and holds a master’s degree from Humboldt State University. A Division 1 soccer player in college, Molly competed in cycling, triathlon, and running before focusing on trail and ultrarunning. With post-graduate specializations in strength training, biomechanics and pain-free movement, she helps athletes build resilience and durability for life as well as running events.

Molly added, “I am a lifetime student of movement with a passion for helping and coaching others to realize their endurance and strength aspirations.”

Joshua Nuckles

Specialty: Trail and Ultrarunning

Joshua grew up in the desert near Utah’s Zion National Park and discovered the joy of riding and running long distances on single track. He jumped into ultrarunning by completing the Zion 100 in 2013. His athletic endeavors also included triathlon, working up to a finish at Ironman Texas in 2015. Joshua earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science (2015), then later an M.S. in Exercise Science (2017) from Utah State University. Working in the fitness industry led him to the healthcare sector, where he worked in a clinical setting to help patients reach medical clearance to return to competitive sports after surgical interventions (Achilles rupture, full ACL tear, etc.).

“Two realizations that guide my coaching practice are that we can all do better at finding joy in the journey, and that our bodies are capable of impossibly great things if we are consistent and patient,” said Joshua.

Nick DiMarco

Nick comes to CTS with a diverse background that includes 11 years of service in the US Air Force. As an Instructor Flight Engineer, he also developed a love for teaching and coaching by leading the squadron’s fitness program. Following his service he earned a Master’s of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from California State Fullerton and then transitioned into the Tactical Strength and Conditioning realm, where he worked with the Army’s 10th Mountain Division and Air Force Special Warfare. Nick’s certifications include UESCA Ultrarunning Coach, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), M.S. Exercise Physiology, USTF Level 1 Coach, USA Swim Coach, and Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator (TSAC-F). As a runner and coach, he completed or helped athletes complete races such as the Bandera 100k, Rim to River 100 miler, Falling Water 100k, and Cabin Fever 50k.

“My approach to coaching is rooted in the diverse experiences I’ve accumulated,” Nick commented. “I’m dedicated to helping athletes overcome their challenges and reach their full potential, whether they’re aiming for their first ultra or seeking to push their limits even further.”
