SALT LAKE CITY, Utah /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Brooksee, the endurance event and technology company behind the Las Vegas Marathon, Portland Marathon, Mesa Marathon and REVEL Race Series, announced a partnership with Every Woman’s Marathon to deploy its industry-leading Laurel timing technology at the highly-anticipated inaugural race. Participants and spectators will enjoy live tracking every mile, an enhanced spectator experience and unprecedented IRL audio integrations made possible by the partnership. Every Woman’s Marathon has already sold out and expects a field of over 7,000 runners on Nov. 16 in Savannah, GA.
“Our partnership with Brooksee and their state-of-the-art Laurel timing technology underscores our commitment to providing a race experience as dynamic and inspiring as the women participating,” said Miranda Abney, vice president of consumer marketing at MilkPEP. “This collaboration enhances the race experience with real-time tracking and motivational audio features and reinforces our mission to put women at the forefront, creating a supportive and exhilarating environment for runners and spectators alike.”
“The buzz around the Every Woman’s Marathon is electric and we’re dedicated to ensuring that the participant experience is second to none,” said Phil Dumontet, CEO of Brooksee. “As we see more and more races utilize our Laurel timing technology, we hope that this elevated tracking experience leaves runners wanting to return to the course next year. It’s all about growing the sport and creating opportunities for the participant and the spectator alike to engage.”
While several other events have utilized Laurel, Every Woman’s Marathon will debut new features made possible by Laurel. In the Every Woman’s Marathon App, participants can hear motivational messages and on-course audio activations from the five Every Woman’s Marathon Captains, like Olympic runners Des Linden or Deena Kastor, that will play at designated points along the route. In addition, the app features a special integration with Spotify and gives runners the chance to hear supporter shout-outs, and motivational text-to-voice messages by friends, family andr supporters that will play in-ear as they make their way to the finish line. They can also opt-in to enjoy audio highlights of unique Savannah locations and sites along the course.
With over 100 timing checkpoints along the course, Laurel will provide exceptional participant tracking data for spectators. Participants and fans will receive text message alerts and updates at every mile of the race. The timing platform also offers industry-leading safety features for race organizers, including a ‘Back of the Pack’ view of the last participants and alerts if participants stop moving after custom thresholds.
Brooksee’s Laurel technology is helping the company work towards its mission to make endurance events more exciting for fans, easier to manage for organizers and more enjoyable for runners. Running is one of the lowest spectator sports globally, and Brooksee is providing an extensive update to technology that hasn’t been innovated since the 1990s. Laurel technology brings a new level of data to the sport, unlocking personal bests for runners with real-time ranking stats in-race, higher levels of on-course support and a birds-eye view of all participant locations on course for race organizers.
